Pumps, Turbines, Compressors, Fans

CFD is commonly used for the optimisation of an individual component design or for the evaluation of the component performance within the complete assembly.

FluidAnalysis Expertise

FluidAnalysis has extensive experience in pump hydraulic design, and we have worked with some of the main companies in the pump industry, including Sulzer Pumps and the Cardo Group. At FluidAnalysis, our CFD expertise is backed up by solid experience in the hydraulic design of pump impellers and volutes.

What CFD offers

Whether the objective of the study is to determine efficiencies, torque and power, head developed by a pump, pressure fluctuations or the source of unsteady forces, CFD can provide a fast and reliable solution.
With specific reporting structures for Turbomachinery, the CFD results can be presented for meridional planes and blade-to-blade views in addition to the standard 3D views.

Pump Impeller / Volute

Pump StreamlinesModel of a single vane impeller wastewater pump to analyse the impeller – volute interaction and determine the resultant pressure pulsations. The streamlines help visualise the flow swirl in the volute.

Cavitation in a Pump Impeller

Three-vane mixed flow impeller showing a cavitation bubble on the vane suction surfaces. The cavities shown are formed by isosurfaces of water volume fraction of 10%.
